Abstract

The management control system is the means by which management control is achieved. Its function is to motivate and guide managers in making decisions in the best interests of the organisation. This relies on a mix of organisational structure and information systems. It is the design of the latter, which cannot for long be divorced from the former, which this chapter addresses.
