The Impact of Big Data on Sustainable Water, Energy, and Environment Practices

The utilization of big data analytics has revolutionized sustainable practices in water, energy, and environmental management. This collection aims to explore the intersection of big data and sustainability, focusing on the energy-water nexus, smart water management, climate change implications, environmental impact assessment, and data-driven approaches to achieving sustainability goals. Researchers are invited to submit their work on topics such as the application of big data analytics in optimizing water and energy usage, assessing environmental impacts, and developing innovative solutions for sustainable resource management.

It is crucial for us to continue advancing our collective understanding in this area to harness the full potential of big data for sustainable practices. Recent advances have demonstrated the transformative impact of big data analytics in enhancing the efficiency of water and energy systems, enabling proactive environmental monitoring, and facilitating evidence-based decision-making for sustainable development. Furthermore, the integration of big data technologies has led to the emergence of innovative solutions for addressing complex challenges at the energy-water nexus and promoting data-driven sustainability initiatives.

This Collection supports and amplifies research related to SDG 6 (Clean Water and Sanitation), SDG 7 (Affordable and Clean Energy), and SDG 13 (Climate Action).
