Computer Vision and Machine Learning in Sports Engineering

Broadly, the ambition of the Topical Collection is to publish a broad spectrum of computer vision and machine learning-based research contributions as well as best-practice contributions that focus on topics such as human pose estimation in sports, multi view geometry applied to the estimation of position and motion of cameras and participants in sports, tracking people and objects in sports, activity recognition in sports, etc.

  • Ami Drory

    Dr. Ami Drory is a senior research fellow at the National Facility for Human-Robot Interaction Research at the University of New South Wales (UNSW) in Sydney, Australia. His work focuses on using markerless pose estimation techniques to quantify vigilance of critical mission operators with the Australian Defense.

  • Hanna Suominen

    Professor Hanna Suominen is a researcher and educator at the Australian National University (ANU). She holds a PhD in Computer Science from the University of Turku (UTU), Finland, which she obtained in 2009. She also has an Adjunct Professorship in Computer Science from UTU.

  • Matthew Worsey

    Dr. Matthew Worsey is a researcher and scholar at Griffith University in Queensland, Australia. He completed his Ph.D. degree in Electronics Engineering at Griffith University in 2022. Currently, he holds the position of Research Fellow at the Griffith Centre of Biomedical and Rehabilitation Engineering.
