The 10th event of a series of workshops addressing current practice and future directions of proficiency testing (PT) and external quality assessment (EQA) in analytical chemistry, microbiology and laboratory medicine. The workshop included training sessions, keynote lectures, short presentations, working group discussions and poster sessions, to enable interactive participation and cross-fertilization of ideas.

Brian Brookman
Brian Brookman, formerly Chief Scientific Officer for LGC’s global PT business, and now PT consultant, is an experienced analytical chemist. The past thirty years of his career focused on analytical quality, particularly proficiency testing (PT). He is involved in various training and consultative projects aimed at developing PT and the accreditation of PT providers. He is engaged in the development and harmonisation of good practice in proficiency testing. He is currently Chair of the ILAC 17043 Working Group, the Eurachem PT Working Group, the EA-Eurolab-Eurachem (EEE) Joint Working Group on PT in Accreditation and the UK PT Working Group.
