In recent years, intense study has yielded great insight into the physics of supernovae and their impact on a very wide variety of subjects from cosmology to astrobiology. The growth of observational information on supernovae, the increasing computational power for modeling, and the deep multi-disciplinary connections of supernovae to stellar physics, galactic evolution, astrochemistry, and cosmic ray origin has motivated the publication of this topical collection of reviews. The aim is to provide some insight on current progress and present some open questions for future supernova studies.
This collection presents research from the ISSI Workshop "Supernovae", held 3–7 October 2016.
