30th anniversary edition of Journal of East Asian Linguistics

This year marks the 30th year of publication of the Journal of East Asian Linguistics. The journal was launched in 1992 to provide a common forum for theoretical research on East Asian languages (as well as Southeast Asian languages) and to foster their potential contributions to contemporary formal linguistic theory. We are gratified to see the journal’s successful growth as a leading journal of its kind, with some of its published articles among the most influential in the field, thanks to the support of our authors, reviewers, advisors and the whole editorial and production team. In celebration of the 30th anniversary, we are pleased to offer two special issues—to appear in succession here (each for a period of two months)—consisting of the editors’ pick of some of the best and most cited articles that have been published in JEAL, for free download online. With continued support from our readers and colleagues in the field, we look forward to the journal’s further growth in the years ahead.
