Neglected tropical diseases (NTDs) present formidable global challenges, disproportionately affecting vulnerable populations who struggle with restricted access to healthcare, clean water, and sanitation. BMC Infectious Diseases invites submissions addressing various aspects of NTDs but not limited to: epidemiological studies, clinical research, socioeconomic analyses, public health and policy initiatives, research advancing the understanding of NTD biology and pathogenesis, as well as the utilization of AI in their management.

    Federal University of the São Francisco Valley (UNIVASF), Brazil Dr Rodrigo Feliciano do Carmo is professor at the College of Medicine of the Federal University of the São Francisco Valley (UNIVASF). He carried out part of his PhD at the Laboratory of Infectious Diseases of INSERM U906 (Aix-Marseille Université, France) and is currently head of the Research Group on Infectious and Neglected Diseases (GPDIN) and of the Laboratory of Epidemiology and Diagnosis of Infectious Diseases at UNIVASF.
  • Wei Wang, MD

    Jiangsu Institute of Parasitic Diseases, China Dr Wei Wang is now an Associate Professor in Jiangsu Institute of Parasitic Diseases and part-time Associate Professor in Nanjing Medical University, China. His research interests focus on, but are not limited to emerging and re-emerging infectious diseases and neglected tropical diseases. He is on the editorial board of several international journals including Infectious Diseases of Poverty, BMC Public Health and BMC Infectious Diseases.
