CTPIOD 2022 (Consortium for Trans-Pyrenean Investigations on Obesity and Diabetes)

This Special Issue of the Journal of Physiology and Biochemistry contains contributions that have been elaborated in the context of the mini-network “Consortium of Trans-Pyrenean Investigations on Obesity and Diabetes” (CTPIOD), which is on its 19th year of existence. This scientific community, involving many research groups from France and Spain but open also to other countries, focuses its attention on the pathophysiological processes, preventive tools, and novel therapeutic targets in the fields of obesity, diabetes, non-alcoholic fatty liver disease, and other non-communicable diseases. In this context, this special issue covers physiological, nutritional, pharmacological, and genetic aspects related to metabolic diseases. Most of these papers emerge from the lectures presented at the 19th Conference on Trans-Pyrenean Investigations in Obesity and Diabetes, celebrated in Jaca (Aragón, Spain) on the 17-18th October 2022, and organized by the University of Zaragoza.
