Special Issue: Terrestrial and Ocean Dynamics – India Perspective II
- Submission status
- Closed
This Special Issue of the Journal shall publish selected papers presented at ‘National Symposium on Advances in Remote Sensing: Trends, Challenges and Opportunities for Development (NS-ARS21)’ to be held during December 9-11, 2021.
Availability of a variety of high-resolution remote sensing data evokes considerable interest in analysing terrestrial and ocean dynamics and builds on developments in object-based image analysis, commercial high-resolution satellite sensors and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV). More details are captured through high and very high-resolution images which offer high potential of extraction of a range of resource management domains such as agriculture, forestry, geological resources, water resources, cryosphere, atmosphere and climate change analytics. The researchers in large number have started using new sensors and new platforms data, cutting-edge methods for fine-level information extraction, improved quantification, and characterization of physical-environment, patterns and processes.
This special issue of Environmental Monitoring and Assessment on Terrestrial and Ocean Dynamics – India Perspective II will provide an opportunity for the presenters of this Symposium belonging to Remote Sensing community to publish their relevant thematic work in this issue for larger benefit of the society as a whole. The selected papers for this issue can belong to the areas such as object identification, change detection, landscape, multi-sensor based, time-series analysis, vegetation growth dynamics, ocean, water resources, and natural resource management.
The scope of the issue is not limited to only above listed areas, potential topics of novelty from across the earth environment may be included. The special issue largely covers the following theme areas:
• High resolution Satellites, Sensors and Techniques
• Natural Resources & Environmental Management
• Cryosphere Research
• Vegetation mapping and modelling
• Coastal Oceanography
• Atmospheric Remote Sensing
• UAV based Remote Sensing
