MRS Advances is accepting full-paper submissions on Nanoscale and Quantum Materials topics related to the symposium topic Emerging Materials for Quantum Information Technologies from the 2020 MRS Spring/Fall Meeting. Submissions, the review process, and the final decision are not contingent on presentation at the meeting itself.
MRS Advances publishes short papers that provide a “snapshot” of an advance within the field of materials research. Such work may include important early indications from a research project that has not yet reached a conclusion, or related results that are significant but not central to the goal of the project. The scientific methods and logic should be rigorous, technically sound, and of interest to other specialists in the area of research.
Of particular interest are topics in Emerging Materials for Quantum Information Technologies:
• Materials interfaces and their role in quantum networks, sensing and computing device performance.
• New combinations of materials and interface states that may revolutionize quantum information device designs such as superconductor-semiconductor devices.
• Novel synthesis methods of materials and heterostructures for quantum information.
• Materials discoveries with potential for quantum information applications.
• Advanced characterization of materials for quantum information devices.
• Advances in ab-initio and multi-scale methods applied to materials used in quantum information systems.
• Interaction of materials with quantum information such as single photon/spin sources, detectors, and dynamics near the ground state.
