Prof. Hawksworth is a mycologist and lichenologist with a professorship at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid, Spain, and also a Scientific Associate of The Natural History Museum in London. He is Editor-in-Chief of Biodiversity and Conservation (Springer) and IMA Fungus (BMC).
