Abstract
Records of monitoring are essential, but records should go much further, with details of the restoration process. Restoration involves manipulation of many variables, with the aim of urging ecological systems toward restoration goals and objectives. Without records, even someone with an excellent memory will soon become vague in what practices were employed, and when.
