Abstract

Understanding what is happening in housing in London means understanding that London is a world city, subject to market pressures well beyond the boundaries of the Greater London Assembly. Increasingly, this means that Londoners looking for a home to rent or buy are at the mercy of forces well beyond the simple ones of supply and demand of housing for other Londoners.
