Abstract
Reproduction results of one-year-old mink females were compared with the data obtained from older mothers, selected for the number of kits weaned in the first reproductive season. Two color types: Scanbrown and Mahogany were studied. The size of the litter in three-year-old females was significantly higher (P>0.05) than that in one-year-old (6.15 vs. 5.01, respectively) in Scanbrown mink, while in Mahogany significantly more kits per female were born (P>0.05) in the second reproduction year than those in the first (6.18 vs. 5.34, respectively). There were no statistically significant differences in reproduction results between color types.
