Abstract

Boundary integral equations can be numerically approximated by various methods. Let

$$Au(x) = g(x),\quad x\in\partial\Omega$$
(10.1)

be a boundary integral equation on the boundary ∂Ω of a domain Ω. Let {Vh}h be a family of finite-element spaces on ∂Ω. We can think of the Galerkin method for approximating (10.1).
