Hands-On Software Engineering Project

  • Chapter
  • First Online:

Abstract

The difference between the real world and academia can be significant. Some efforts to bridge this gap come from projects that simulate real world problems in a controlled learning environment. The expectations that arise in these settings are not just to deliver a product or service by some arbitrary deadlines, but for the student to engross themselves in the processes and activities, and to learn and hone skills that are highly marketable. To do this, students need to provide honest and constructive feedback for other students, the group, and themselves.
