Abstract

The previous chapters have provided many details concerning software development and design. They have shown design principles, practices and tools for the development of the best software possible. However, what makes software good or correct and how does one even go about measuring such subjective qualities? Furthermore, why and when do these things need to be measured? This chapter will cover the fundamentals of measuring a project’s success as well explain when metrics and measures may not be appropriate.
