Newspapers and Government Documents: Popular and Official Sources of Information
In this chapter, we begin to consider how to collect information in the field. I want to start here by looking at some of the ways to make use of both popular and official sources of information that may be gathered during fieldwork that will help complete (along with your preliminary reading) your understanding of the macro context of education in specific region or country. In future chapters, I discuss how to compare macro information with the micro processes of human interactions in order to understand actual human behaviors in ethnographic settings.
