Abstract
In this chapter I will examine the stereotypical picture of Germans as hard-working people in order to show whether the widely-held belief, especially in the Anglo-Saxon world, that ‘all Germans work hard’ is a myth or reality. I will use as my informants British students on industrial work placements in Germany.
