Abstract
Papagiannouli looks at the forms of cyber-adaptation, cyber-ethnotheatre and cyber-collaboration as directing methodologies for producing dialectical forms of political cyberformances (in Brechtian terms), with reference to the productions of Cyberian Chalk Circle (2011), Merry Crisis and a Happy New Fear (2012) and Etheatre Project and Collaborators (2014), respectively. The chapter also discusses the specific directorial work that was undertaken for each production to generate new knowledge in relation to directing political cyberformance. Audience participation is noted as retaining a key role in the making and staging of a cyberformance, where participants can co-direct, interact with the performance and become part of the collective ensemble of a company.
