Abstract

“Lamar’s not going to make the interview,” Steve tells me as I walk into Steele Cottage. Earlier in the week I had arranged with Steve and Lamar to interview Lamar that fall afternoon. I had to arrange all of my interviews with the cottage supervisors.

If black males were loved they could hope for more than a life locked down, caged, confined; they could imagine themselves beyond containment.
