Abstract
Fattorello’s fourth chapter considers political journalism and news, together with their characteristics. He offers his outlook on information and the social condition of the individual, discusses how news information carries the new, and also the publicity of news information. He offers his views on the pre-political journalism phase of news information and the need for timeliness in the news, the news item, and the contingent character of the object of political journalism information. Re then discusses the lack of precision in news and the periodic reoccurrence of news information. The final parts of this chapter discuss the values of political journalism and contingent information, together with mass culture.
