Abstract

Since the time he was very young, Miñe knew he would become a shaman. Once, when visiting his grandfather (the father of his stepfather) at the age of seven, he got very sick. Miñe’s grandfather had been a shaman for many years and despite his attempts to cure the boy, the illness was progressing. Finally, after consuming local herbs given by his grandfather, the boy got better and was told that one day he would become a shaman and he will travel with the jaguar spirits.
