Abstract
This chapter defines how Meta and Normative are being used and applied to the respective fields and then applies these concepts to an article from DSQ and one from JPED to show specific examples of how each field frames specific concerns; how does the conversation within and between fields change when each field adopts something of the viewpoint of the other? What questions grow out of dialogue that are less likely to be produced by the fields working independently?
