Abstract
Have you ever heard a pep talk so motivating that it leaves you energized and pumping your fists (literally or figuratively) and saying (or thinking) “yes, I can!” or perhaps “bring it on!”? Have you ever held your breath at the start of a brand-new project or situation and felt the exhilaration—including the butterflies in the stomach and elevated heartbeat—of stepping in to the unknown? Have you ever walked into a new opportunity, a challenging work assignment, an advanced class, a job interview and smiled to yourself, thinking “I’m totally up for this”?
