Abstract
Credit guarantee schemes are one option to facilitate microenterprises and SME’s in accessing the credit market. The credit guarantee schemes represent a vast and heterogeneous number of realities worldwide, usually classified into two main categories: guarantee companies (or institutions) and guarantee programmes.
Although the chapter has been prepared by the authors jointly, Sections 4.1, 4.2, 4.4 and Annex 1 have been written by Pasqualina Porretta, Section 4.3 has been written by Ida C. Panetta, Section 4.5 and Annex 2 have been written by Paola Leone, whereas Section 4.6 has been written by Sabrina Leo. Paola Leone and Pasqualina Porretta have written Section 4.7.
