Abstract

Over the past 14 years, much empirical work has been done to determine whether ACT could be useful in the workplace. The research in this area tends to fall into two categories: questionnaire studies and intervention studies. Although some important questionnaire-based research has been conducted with a variety of workforces displaying the often-predictive relationship between acceptance/PF and better mental health, job performance, learning and job satisfaction (Bond & Bunce, 2003; Donaldson-Feilder & Bond, 2004; Bond & Flaxman, 2006; Bond, Flaxman, & Bunce, 2008; McCracken & Yang, 2008; Onwezen, van Veldhoven, & Biron, 2014), it is the research in which workers have received an ACT intervention that will be the focus of this chapter.
