Abstract
For the last 20 years, the world of English language teaching has come to realize the value of corpora and has worked out how to use them in the preparation of teaching materials, dictionary-making, syllabus design, and in the classroom. In the last few years, the teaching of Chinese has grown rapidly. Thus it is desirable to transfer the expertise across, so Chinese teaching benefits from the experience of corpus use in English teaching.
