Abstract
As we leave the women in Chapter 3 coming to the end of their counselling, so we re-join the men at the beginning of theirs. As outlined in Chapter 2, the process for deciding to seek help had many similarities in the descriptions of both men and women, although the response to those requests had, at times, been different. Whereas the women were able to access a local agency, the men had to travel some distance as there was only one available to them. In addition, the women had generally received a sympathetic response to their experiences, whereas the men had struggled to find someone that believed their story.
