Abstract
Chapter 7 summarizes the content of Race, Gender, Religion, and Politics: A Critical Reading of Mass Media Portrayals of the Obamas and provides a comprehensive conclusion. The chapter offers implications for political campaigns and directives for students and consumers of mass media messages. To remain relevant, it is necessary for scholars to test theories in different circumstances, which is the task undertaken in Race, Gender, Religion, and Politics: A Critical Reading of Mass Media Portrayals of the Obamas.
