Abstract

In a Washington Post article of September 14, 2001, the icon of the North American religious right,2 Reverend Jerry Falwell, is reported as having seized the moment of al Qaeda’s September 11 attacks on the United States as an opportunity to reprimand feminists, along with “the pagans, and the abortionists, and… the gays and the lesbians” for their indirect hand in turning “God’s wrath” against America.3

I recognize there is dynamite in this and I’m scared shitless.
