Abstract
In early 2013, I attended a networking event hosted at a downtown Kuala Lumpur nightclub. While I was talking to a friend on the outdoor terrace, a Chinese gentleman in his late thirties approached our table. He wore an expensive suit and a beguiling smile. Urbane, well-educated and speaking fluent English, Dr. Wong explained that he was visiting KL on business. An economist by training, his profession was investment banking or, more accurately, investment research.
