Abstract

This chapter looks at learning disabilities, cultural representation, and the portrayal of minorities in film. As the integration of technology and media into scholarly activities increases, and as media and technology continue to evolve, new forms of literacy will be necessary. This chapter illustrates that the fusion of education and technology must be student-centered rather than technology-centered. It also sheds light on entertainment-education and social change, and highlights the role of transformational education and transformative learning. A critical-creative pedagogy is introduced.
