Abstract
Hospitals have a crucial role to play in realising the full potential of eHealth, with a high level of leadership and governance called for inside the hospital and beyond. Together with an academic two health sector executives, leading figures in the field of eHealth from two of the most innovation-driving and first-rate hospitals in Europe, have joined forces in this chapter. They reflect on the importance of information technology (IT) in hospitals and the implementation of highly integrated IT systems in their respective institutions, the Hospital Clinic, Barcelona, and Hôpitaux Universitaires, Geneva.
