Abstract
The focus of this book is the commercial company. Even within the class of ‘commercial companies’, there is a wide range of different behaviour, goals and so forth, so I shall concentrate on a core case. This will be a widely held public company of the sort traded on the stock exchanges in major economies and which produces, buys and sells goods and services with the principal aim of maximising economic returns to its shareholders.
