Abstract

Since the mid-1990s, considerable efforts have been made to establish a robust basis for assessing public spending and its effects on the development of Uganda and its citizens. To better understand the linkages, patterns and constraints to growth and change, substantial resources have been spent on: establishing good time-series and qualitative data on key socioeconomic indicators; public accounts; regular monitoring of public policy interventions; and, on policy relevant research, analysis and evaluation.
