Abstract

If the body has a narrative, is a narrative, mine is fatally fragmented. This in itself is not significant, for none of us can escape those first fractures. What is significant, however, is my experience of living this body in this world. That is why I tell my story, because no two stories are the same, just as no two bodies are the same. Because stories—entangled in themselves, in each other—simply by being told and retold open up more spaces for us to occupy, however briefly.
