Abstract
The NorNed cable has been out of operation since Saturday April 11, due to a fire at the Eemshaven converter station. No interruption in the supply of electricity occurred when the cable, which has a capacity of 700 MW and was transporting electricity from Norway to the Netherlands at the time of the fire, was taken out of operation. However, it is expected that no electricity transmission will be possible for several weeks at least.1
