Abstract
China is undergoing the shift from an economic model driven by export manufacturing to one more driven by domestic consumption. This is good news for any companies trying to sell into the Chinese consumer market, if they can negotiate the extremely fragmented nature of those markets, the high level of counterfeit goods, the throng of jostling competitors and the confusing market size data.
