Abstract
Recent years have seen a strong development of a comparably neglected aspect of research in creativity: the biological basis of creativity. This development has been manifested in an increasing number of original articles and reviews covering this area (Arden et al., 2010; Dietrich, 2004; Dietrich and Kanso, 2010; Gonen-Yaacovi et al., 2013; Runco et al., 2011). Two main areas can be identified: genetics and neurophysiology. Both these areas have seen astonishing advances in recent decades with new methodologies being used for a number of different aspects of psychology and psychiatry (Gazzaniga et al., 2009; Plomin et al., 2012).
