Abstract
The objective of this book is to offer an in-depth analysis of the major economic developments of the various segments of the media and content industries: book publishing, broadcasting,1 film, music, the newspaper industry and video games. It attempts to give an overview of the dynamics of the sector within a more global ecosystem of telecoms, media and IT. It analyses the changes that have taken place over the last decade, putting them in their historical perspective, and emphasizing the intermingling with ICTs (information and communication technologies).
