Abstract
The previous chapter introduced a general thought pattern, hypothetical retrospection, for moral deliberation on problems involving risk and uncertainty. In the present chapter, this thought pattern will be used to develop and justify some more specific argument forms for risk and uncertainty. Here as well, we will leave out interindividual issues such as justice and conflicts of interest. More precisely, we will assume that the action or decision under consideration is performed for the furtherance f only one interest (that may be the interest of a single individual or the joint interest of several individuals). Interindividual issues are deferred to Chapters 6 and 7.
