Abstract

We wrote this book because we found that women weren’t being exposed to these important topics early enough in their careers. It’s easier to establish a new habit than to correct an existing one, particularly when it comes to personal attributes such as communication, work-life fit, and leadership, just to name a few. As you were reading the book, you may have realized that you want to change the way you are doing something or start focusing on an area to which you hadn’t previously devoted much thought. Given that you may not have even landed in your chosen career field yet, it may feel overwhelming when you consider all the pieces of your career and the factors involved in putting those pieces into place. It doesn’t need to feel that way, and to that end, we offer several thoughts on your next steps in applying the concepts in this book to your career.
