Abstract
Based on a conception of foreign policy as a discursive practice in accordance with the post-structuralist research agenda in the discipline of International Relations (IR), this chapter lays out the analytical framework deployed in the book in order to seize and interpret the gendered narratives within the particular military discourse of so-called perception management and to grasp the implications for and of its offers of identification.
