Abstract
Helen Chinoy left in her archives at Smith College and in her family files in storage a number of versions of how she envisioned her Group Theatre book taking shape. Our effort to record faithfully in these pages that story as she envisioned it has been foremost in our attempt to edit Professor Chinoy’s extraordinary work and to proffer it to interested readers.
