Abstract
This is one author’s view of the major transformations in the long history of human crime opportunity, based on reading a few books and articles. Most of the sources used to write this chapter were written in English, only one of the Earth’s thousands of tongues. Despite that bias, this chapter still covers a rather wide range of historical experience.
