We have covered much ground, and now it is important to gain an overview of what this study has achieved. This study has aimed to establish that the Jamesian account provides us with a philosophically viable response to the question of entitlement to believe in God. The Jamesian account permits a venture beyond the evidence if and only if the following conditions are fulfilled:
  1. (1)

The option cannot be resolved on evidential grounds.

  2. (2)

The content of the option, and the passional commitment to the option is itself morally admirable or at least not morally flawed.

  3. (3)

The option is genuine, i.e., living, forced and momentous

The arguments detailed in Chapter 1 provide us with reasons to think that there is a good prima facie case for the philosophical viability of the Jamesian account.
