Abstract
Chapter prologue: This chapter discusses the Animal Liberation Front (ALF) as a group that engages in discourse about animals in a manner that differs from the dominant discourse. This work examines that discourse because it exists. However, this writing should not be read as an endorsement of ALF activities that manifest as violence. Indeed, this work should never be construed as a work that advocates, propones, supports, approves of or otherwise encourages any violence towards human beings.
