Abstract

The latest wave of Eurasian exchange started as a one-way process — that is, the adoption of western technology and economic methods by East, South and West Asia and CIS countries. However, this exchange is increasingly becoming a two-way process. The key feature of the modern period of exchange is its emphasis on technology.1 The development of transport and ICT in particular has amplified the intensified exchange hundreds of times, and telecommunications multinationals have become its main vehicles.
