Iraqi TV Coverage of the 2010 General Election

  • Chapter
Media Practice in Iraq

Abstract

This chapter presents the analysis of the evening newscasts of four Iraqi TV channels that are mostly partisan in nature. Except for the government-run Iraqia TV, the three other channels are run, supported, and funded by political parties, so they are ‘partisan’. For the sake of brevity, I have not included many parametrical and non-parametrical tests and I have avoided lengthy discussions on the study’s theoretical background and the channels’ coverage.1
